Description of The Project
The project its located on River Street which has a long past as Savannah historic working waterfront. Over the last centuries this street has been transformed into a central tourism and hospitality node while maintaining historical scale and materials. My concept throughout this project was the idea of floating masses. Due to the slope that the site presented, circulation was an important factor to consider and the idea of using a ramp as circulation excited me. these two ideas together created a mass that appears to float, ( because it is supported at its opposite ends), and has a linear distribution. Ultimately the idea is to incite visitor’s curiosity by braking with the aesthetic and structural River Street language.
